The CHS is a thriving group of garden enthusiasts who have been enjoying plants, gardening, talks about gardens and
visits to gardens since 1968. New members are always welcome.
Throughout the winter,
the CHS meet in Aberystwyth for a motivating variety of lectures. In spring
the Society holds a Plant Sale, which is an ideal place to meet members and
purchase fruit, flower and vegetable plants they have grown. During summer, members enjoy day
visits to gardens and nurseries within Wales and the Borders, while longer 3-day
and 5-day trips take members further afield in Britain and abroad. The Society has a library with a wide range
of books of horticultural interest and produces a journal, Spadework,
which contains informative articles written by members as well as their reports on the winter lecture series and garden visits.
The Website is illustrated with members' photographs, taken on our many garden visiting excursions.
